I’m Candie—a Philly girl living in the South, a first-generation college graduate, a survivor of trauma, and a woman of faith who turned her pain into purpose. I’m an author, speaker, and communications strategist on a mission to help women heal, walk in truth, and rise into their God-given assignments.
I know what it means to feel invisible, to carry brokenness you didn’t ask for, and still choose joy, healing, and legacy. Every chapter of my life—no matter how messy—has been used for good. That’s why I write. That’s why I serve. That’s why I lead.
As the Chief Communications Officer for New Schools for Alabama, I amplify parent voices and advocate for education equity. I’m also the founder of Word Girlz, a nonprofit that empowers women and girls through literacy, storytelling, and purpose-driven programming. And as Editor-in-Chief of WOW! Magazine, I’ve helped create a platform for Christian women to be inspired, empowered, and heard.
Whether I’m helping schools find their voice, teaching a women’s workshop, or mentoring writers to own their story—I do it with heart, truth, and strategy.
